2:31pm - Reading have named an unchanged starting line-up from Tuesday night's defeat at Burnley. The only change comes to the substitute's bench - on loan Alex Pearce is replaced by Brynjar Gunnarsson. Bristol City are resting Dele Adebola and giving Stern John a start up front.
2:53pm - The two teams are about to emerge from the tunnel behind the goal to my left. The press are unusually sat behind a wall of windows in an old fashioned indoor press box at the back of the stand. We're out of the wind but still need the gloves!
2:57pm - The two teams are out now and shaking hands on an overcast afternoon. Harper saying a few words to himself before kick off.
1 min - Michael McIndoe wins a corner which is cleared out to him. He volleys it back towards goal but it flies high into the stand.
2 mins - A long free kick from half way is lofted into the Bristol box. It sails over the back line and Noel Hunt sticks a leg out to try to stab it goalwards as it drops over his shoulder, but it scuffs wide.
3 mins - A cleared cross falls to Noel Hunt's feet and he shoots first time. It is deflected wide for a corner which is calmly dealt with by the City defenders.
7 mins - Noel Hunt dispossesses Jamie McCoumbe at the back and scampers onto the loose ball to play in Kevin Doyle. He has a bit of space on the right to shoot and he lasers an effort at goal, but Adriano Basso parries and gathers the rebound.
10 mins - Jimmy Kebe is penalised for a high foot but in fact it was a stopping head that was second to the ball. Bristol City have a free kick 25 yards out but McIndoe's effort clatters into the wall.
14 mins - GOAL! Liam Rosenior makes progress down the right and passes a great ball into Kevin Doyle's run. He looks like he's being held a bit but he takes it on and shoots past Basso from a tight angle. Great finish!
15 mins - GOAL! It's two. Cisse wins it in midfield and battles through another challnege to take it forward. Reading have men over in attack here and he feeds Noel Hunt ot the right. The pass takes Hunt quite narrow but from a very similar position he slams it past Basso for 2-0!
21 mins - Ivar Ingimarsson is very harshly penalised for a challenge in the left back spot. He is booked to rub salt into the wounds but Hahnemann comes to collect the cross with confidence.
23 mins - Doyle has it near the corner flag on the left and he swings in a cross that Noel Hunt is looking to geta touch. He can't quite reach it and it pops up off a City leg into Basso's arms.
26 mins - Kebe worms his way to the byline and stands a cross up into the box. It's behind Doyle and company thought and Stephen Hunt can only work a corner on the left side.
31 mins - Good exchange between Hunt and Armstrong on the left sees that latter cross into the near post. Noel Hunt tries to glance it goalwards but a City head beats him to it and nods it behind for a corner.
32 mins - A corner is cleared and it comes to Kebe. He touches it inside to Cisse who tries to stab a right-footed 20 yard effort past Basso. But it is calmly saved and lacks the power to trouble the keeper.
36 mins - City have it on the right and a cross comes into the box. Hahnemann can't come for it and John wins his header and directs it towards the top left corner. But Hahnemann leaps high to his right and pushes it behind for a corner.
37 mins - Stern John is troubling the Royals defence now, he unleashes an effort from the lef and it fizzes just wide of Hahnemann's left post.
39 mins - A nice move sees the ball land at Noel Hunt's feet. He tries his luck from just outside the area and it deflects off the City leg. It looks like it might wrongfoot Basso and find a way in but the hosts' keeper reacts well and pats it away.
43 mins - Kebe breaks through sheer pace down the right. He cuts a great ball inside for Cisse who has a chance to shoot from just inside the box. But leaning back he skies it into the stands.
45 mins - Marvin Elliott lets rip with a 30 yard effort on the bounce. It's floating goalwards and may be dipping under the bar but Hahnemann watches as it lands on the roof of his net.
HALF TIME - Two goals within the space of 60 or so seconds has given Reading a two-goal cushion this afternoon. City have threatened and there are more goals in this game, but hopefully Reading can cling onto this one??!!
47 mins - GOAL! Kebe wriggles free and latches onto a mistake to scamper in towards goal. The angle is tight and he delays and delays before touching it across the face for Stephen Hunt to run onto. Hunt slides in but can't connect and ends up in the back of the net himself. It's touched out to Doyle though, who toes it home from yards out.
53 mins - The ball bobbles out to Stern John who hooks a great effort goalwards from the edge of the box. Hahnemann is at full stretch to tip it away from his top left corner.
54 mins - GOAL! And what a goal! From nowhere Kalifa Cisse thunders a swerving right-footed 20-yard effort into the top left corner! One to watch out for on the highlights.
56 mins- Hunt brilliantly deceives his man on the byline to pull it back into the six yard box. Noel Hunt and Doyle are both there but half-hearted stabs are blacked by Bristol legs and the danger fizzles out.
59 mins - Triple Bristol substitution. Akinde, Trundle and Noble are brought on for Johnson, Sproule and Maynard.
64 mins - A good pass is threaded through the Royals back four and John stretches out a leg to control it. He then slams it high into net off Hahnemann but the offside flag is up. John is frustrated but the decision looked correct.
68 mins - Reading substitution. Marek Matejovsky makes his long awaited return from injury by replacing Noel Hunt,
72 mins - Reading subsitution. Shane Long is on for Doyle. Reading in cruise control here.
74 mins - Kebe has acres in front of him and he takes no time to eat up the ground running into the box from the right. His last touch is too heavy though and Basso is off his line to dive at Kebe's feet and collect.
76 mins - Kebe down the right and he cuts it back from the byline to Long. He shoots first time with his right foot but Basso is down well to gather it.
81 mins - Bradley Orr tries his luck from 30 yards but it skims well wide of the left post.
82 mins - Reading substitution. Harper has run himself silly so is replaced by Brynjar Gunnarsson.
83 mins - Orr again on the overlap here and the ball is flicked into his path by Trundle. He winds up to shoot and does so, but Hahnemann saves with his legs.
90 mins - This game has been going through the motions for the last ten minutes. Three minutes of injury time are to be added.
90(+3) mins - GOAL! John has finally got one! A cross from the right from Orr finds John unmarked and the striker slams it high past Hahnemann on the volley for a consolation. Reading are livid that no offside decision was given.
FULL TIME - Reading finally make their dominance pay in an away game and have walked to a comfortable 4-1 win over Bristol this afternoon.
