Defender in team of the week

Posted on: Tue 04 Nov 2008

Royals defender Liam Rosenior has been named in the official Championship team of the week.

The right back put in a very good performance at Bristol City on Saturday, and made a key contribution to Kevin Doyle's opening goal.

Despite our superb performance at Ashton Gate, Liam is the only Royal in the team of the week, which is selected by Press Association journalists.

The full Championship team was: Konstantopolous (Swansea); Rosenior (Reading), Stewart (Derby), Mancienne (Wolves), Moore (Barnsley); Garvan (Ipswich), Schneiderlin (So'ton), Gomez (Swansea), Eagles (Burnley); Beattie (Sheff U), Macken (Barnsley)

In League One, former Reading defender Aaron Brown was named for exploits, scoring in Yeovil's win over Oldham. Our ex-striker Simon Cox was also in after a hat-trick for Swindon Town.

Kalifa Cisse's goal at City was named as Championship goal of the week by the Football League's official website.
