Ivar: Bikey is just brilliant
Royals centre back Ivar Ingimarsson has hailed his defensive partner Andre Bikey as 'brilliant,' and says there is even more to come from the Cameroonian.
The duo have played the last nine games together, and helped us to a great win at Bristol City last week; the clean sheet only going in injury time to a Stern John consolation that looked very much like being offside.
23-year-old Bikey always catches the eye with his flair and willingness to play his way out of trouble, and boss Steve Coppell said last season that he could be one of the best players in the Premier League.
Ivar concurs with the boss' assessment, saying, "Andre is a brilliant player and he will only get better and better, we can see much more from him in the future.
"Obviously we played together often last year but finally now we're getting a run and it's going well.
"Andre has said himself he is used to a different type of football and he is calm in positions when sometimes other people are normally jumpy!
"He is comfortable on the ball and sometimes he wants to take it down when some people say it shouldn't. It's about getting the balance, and whenever he does get that balance then he is just unbelievable."
Ingimarsson, 31, has started in all but two of our games this season, and has made 218(+5) appearances in a Reading shirt since becoming Steve Coppell's first signing a little more than five years ago.
He has an overall career total of 382(+12), and only club captain Graeme Murty, 33, has more in his career, with 455(+36) for York then Reading.
