Blackwell: Hahnemann was key

Posted on: Mon 17 Nov 2008

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell pinpointed two saves by goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann as key moments in the Royals' 2-0 win at Bramall Lane.

Hahnemann saved expertly from both James Beattie and Billy Sharp in the second half, and the American continued his very impressive form of recent weeks.

Blackwell said, "In the second half we gave it a go and Marcus made a couple of great saves that helped change the game.

"We changed formation, we gave it a real go and I couldn't ask for any more from the lads.

"To lose any game is disappointing, and this was a home game, a big match against one of our rivals.

"They came out sharper and brighter, they deserved the lead and we conceded a sloppy one just before half time.

"After that we had chances and couldn't finish. If we got one we'd have been well in it but fair play to Reading in the end.
