Liam Rosenior admits the Royals owed a good performance after losing so badly at the weekend.

Rosenior and his teammates put in a display full of guts and character at Ninian Park on Tuesday evening, three days after a very poor show at home to Southampton.

Our ten men earned a dogged point, and they could have even nicked all three as the second half went on.

Liam said, "We owed that performance. We'd had a long meeting looking back at the video of Southampton and we didn't want to sit through us playing badly again.

"Our sports scientist Kunle said our stats from Saturday showed we did more running than in any other game but it was to no avail. We might have had the effort and determination, but this time we added the quality.

"The players' character came through in the end. At half time we'd have taken a point but toward the end I thought we grew more and we're a little disappointed to draw.

"I thought Andre was unlucky to be sent off, his arms looked to be in the right place and Michael Chopra said to me afterwards he didn't think he meant to do it.

"For the pen as well Chopra said to me he didn't know if it was a foul or not, and if a player says that to you then it normally means it's not a penalty!

"I thought Doyler was unbelievable up front on his own against two big centre backs, credit to him for the way he affected the game in that situation.

"We had pace out wide and I thought we looked a good side away from home with ten men."
