Ivar: Ref should use his linesman
Ivar Ingimarsson believes referee Peter Walton should have conferred with his linesman before deciding to send off Andre Bikey at Cardiff this Tuesday evening.
Ingimarsson was very upset with the decision, and Walton indicated that he believed Bikey had punched Michael Chopra. The linesman was in a good position no more than 15 yards away, and Ingimarsson says Walton should have taken a second opinion before deciding to brandish the red card and suspend Bikey for a further three games.
Ivar commented, "The referee said that it was a red card for a punch in the face but it was never like that. I just think in those cases the referee should take a deep breath, ask the linesman and go for that second opinion because it's a very big decision to take.

"It was a foul, Bikey jumped up for a header and from what I saw had his arms on the shoulders but the guy fell down like he had been punched in the face.
"I thought it was a joke, to be honest. It's crazy, you see tackles and all kinds of things going unpunished so a straight red and three game ban is very, very unfair. You just hope the ref would have the sense to look at it.
"It left us with ten men and sometimes you have to dig in more. We got tighter and had to close down the spaces.
"We're always dangerous on the break. Doyley gets his credit for scoring goals but how he kept the ball and took the pressure off us was fantastic.
"This could be a very important point for us; a point away from home with a man down with decisions going against us. We upped our game second half and could have won."
