Kebe appeal is unsuccessful
Jimmy Kebe's appeal has been unsuccessful, and he misses three games, starting with this evening's Championship home fixture against Blackpool.
The winger was sent off for violent conduct during the first half of our 1-0 win away to Barnsley on Saturday, and will now miss this evening's game, as well as our matches with Norwich and Birmingham.
Steve Coppell disagreed with the decision by ref Clive Oliver, and we submitted an appeal on the grounds of wrongful dismissal to the FA via their fast track disciplinary system.
The panel met just after 1pm on Tuesday afternoon, but have decided not to overturn the referee's decision and the Malian right winger's ban has been upheld.
In the case of frivolous appeals the FA can decide to add a further game to the suspension, but the disciplinary board have only kept the ban to three games on this occasion.
Manager Coppell will now accept the FA decision, and has already made contingency plans in the event of Kebe's absence, with James Henry and Bobby Convey among his options for the right wing this evening.
