Royals striker Kevin Doyle has been nominated as a contender for the official FAI senior player of 2008.
Doyle has remained a regular for his country throughout the year, and he is one of three players named in this category.
He will battle it out with Shay Given and John O'Shea for the award, which will be announced on 8th February at a ceremony in Saggart.
Kevin has also been named in the international goal of the year category for his goal away to Georgia; a neat header after a quick move down the right.
Doyle is a previous winner in the young player of the year category, and was also nominated for senior player of 2007 but was edged out.
Kevin is the Championship's leading scorer with 15 goals so far this season, and he was named the official Football League player of the month in September, then the PFA player of the month in November. He's also been nominated for the December gong and you can vote at givemefootball.com
