Ivar Ingimarsson was left somewhat frustrated after the Royals' 1-1 draw away to Southampton on Sunday.
Ivar captained the side at St Mary's, but we did not really get into gear until the second half, and even then had to fight back for a late point thanks to Shane Long's goal.
He said, "I didn't think we were that good on the day. We didn't create many chances or get many shots on target and Southampton made it hard for us.
"The second half was better, but when we went a goal down it didn't look good for us at that point.
"But Doobs came up with a great header and then Shane was brave to knock it in the back of the net.
"[Two games in three days] is not ideal but we knew it was coming and we could still have done better.
"We didn't do enough to win and we were thankful for a draw in the end because it's better than a defeat.
"We'll be looking to improve as much as possible because that's what you always aim to do.
"We're doing everything we can to make sure we're promoted at the end of the season and anything else for us is going to be a failure."
