Steve: We'll need the full squad
Royals boss Steve Coppell believes there are plenty of positives to come out of Saturday's FA Cup clash at Cardiff, even though we were on the end of a 2-0 defeat.
The result could have been different if we had taken one of our early chances, and we were edged out by a full-strength Bluebirds side with two second half goals.
Steve was pleased with his team's performance, and says it bodes well for the remainder of the season, when we will need to use the squad to its fullest depth.
He told Reading World, "I was pleased with a lot of performances. It was an opportunity for younger players and those who have been on the fringe of things.
"Those are players that we will surely need again for first team action, and Saturday's game could prove very important in the grand scheme of things.
"A lot of players have ticked boxes. Graeme Murty got 90, Alex Pearce, Bikey, Leroy was back in the fold, I could name the whole team. That can only be a plus for each player.
"I maintain that we will need a lot more than eleven players for the rest of the season, believe you me. We've got 20 games, we will need 20-odd players.
"There's still time for us to supplement the squad, and still time to lose some, whether I like it or not. So I have to be sure I've got the personnel who can cope.
"There were plenty of plusses therefore for the individuals who came in. There's Henry, Kelly, Bobby Convey...like I said I could name the whole team."
