Federici: I hate losing

Posted on: Mon 02 Mar 2009

Adam Federici was left absolutely devastated after seeing his team go down 1-0 at home to Nottingham Forest.

The Royals were by far the better team in the first half, but failed to score and did not find any rhythm after the interval.

Lewis McGugan scored the all-important goal and we failed to create a real chance as we searched for a late equaliser.

Adam said, "It's just so disappointing and really I hate losing. I can't describe how bad all of us feel right now."

Jimmy Kebe put a brilliant chance wide of the mark with less than two minutes gone, and it proved costly in the end. Adam said, "If the goals go early then the pressure is off, and if we'd got one we'd have won 4-0 or 5-0.

"It seems to be our luck that headers are going straight at the keeper when earlier in the season they were going in.

"It's disappointing but we've put 110% in and you can't ask for more in terms of work rate from the boys.

"Now we can make amends in the games coming up, I think we're better when the games are close together and it's not a week between every match we play.

"We wanted to start this run of games with a win but we've got fixtures to catch up on it now.

"Things are not falling for us on the pitch and there might be less pressure away from home.

"Other teams's results have gone our way, in hindsight you can say a win would put us in a great position.

"But as the gaffer has said a few times, we wouldn't change position with anyone or change players - and I really think it's down to luck at the moment."
