Open evening for Academy course

Posted on: Thu 05 Mar 2009

The John Madejski Academy will be hosting an open evening and trials night for their Football Studies Course between 4-8pm on Tuesday 10th March.

The course is open for school leavers of both sexes in year 11 looking to continue their education.

The event includes a presentation on the course and its content, followed by trials for next year's squad, and anyone interested is asked to arrive at 4pm and bring with them training kit and moulded boots for the trial.

The course involves the participants studying level 2/3 Btec qualifications along with additional A level courses and training for around 15 hours a week in an elite coaching environment. The students also study their level 1 and 2 coaching badges.

Tristan Lewis, who heads the course, said, "This is a fantastic course at an amazing facility. The support from Reading FC and the staff at the JMA gives the boys and girls on the course the best possible chance to develop not only as elite players but as great coaches."

Further details of other trial events on 15th April are available on the application form.
