Reading's reserve team remains unbeaten this season after a 3-1 home win against Millwall's second string at Madejski Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Leroy Lita scored twice and Noel Hunt hit the back of the net from the penalty spot after Dan Harding was fouled.
Brian McDermott's men are now four points clear at the top of the totesport.com combination league and also have three games in hand over second-placed Southampton.
Lita's first goal came after just two minutes when he headed home inside the six yard box from a corner, but Millwall were level just a couple of moments later after a harsh handball decision led to a penalty kick.
Hunt then scored from the penalty spot himself just moments into the second half following a very late challenge on Harding, who got forward well from left back.
With time almost up, Hunt took a quick free kick and allowed Abdulai Baggie to find Lita for a tidy finish.
