Steve Coppell will not be paying any special attention to Birmingham's result when they face Preston on Saturday.
If Birmingham lose at home to North End, the Royals still have a chance of automatic promotion this season.
We would also require Sheffield United to drop points in one of their final two games, while we would have to beat Norwich and then overcome Birmingham as well.
With all of those results needing to go our way, Steve said, "I'm not losing any sleep over it and certainly not thinking about it too much. We'll be training Saturday morning, we'll have our day set out and see what happens after that.
"I'll be going to a game in the afternoon and I'll be keeping an eye on the radio or TV but only because I would do anyway, it's my job. I'm certainly not holding out too much hope and I might buy a lottery ticket!
"You can never say never, nobody can guarantee any result 100% because otherwise we wouldn't bother playing. There's a very, very, very small chance but no more.
"So many results have to go our way and then we've got to win our games as well. There's that many ifs and buts I really won't lose any sleep on it.
"Many times we've thought 'if we win today we'll be looking good.' If you look at the table now then two more home wins would have put us right in the thick of it.
"We're on the periphery because we've given up some really great opportunities throughout this season.
"We don't want to depend on anyone and it would just be nice to finish strongly with two wins."
