Ireland youth international midfielder Scott Davies has signed a new two-year contract with the Club.
The 21-year-old was out of contract, but the Royals have moved quickly to secure his services until 2011.
He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Aldershot Town, and has made his name as a goalscoring midfielder, scoring 23 times in 69(+8) appearances.
The Royals' Director Of Football Nick Hammond told the Club's official website readingfc.co.uk, "Scott had another very good season on loan with Aldershot, playing 45 games and scoring 14 goals.
"He can now look forward to coming back for pre-season with an opportunity to impress our new manager."
Davies is a central midfielder who has played for Ireland's u19s, and he was also called up for an u21 fixture.
He was previously part of Wycombe Wanderers' Academy, and was key in the Reading FC reserve team that won the Premier League national reserve title in 2006/7.
He possesses a thunderbolt shot, and won the Conference goal of the season in 2007/8, Aldershot's title-winning year.
