Midfielder Oliver Bozanic helped Australia's under 20s team to third place in the Terborg Tournament over the weekend.
The ten-team competition was spread over three days, and also involved the likes of Ajax, Liverpool and Valencia.
Each team played two games per day, and the matches were split into two halves of 20 minutes.
On Friday, Bozanic played twice as they were first edged out 1-0 by Valencia but then won 2-0 against Feyenoord.
He then started the first game on Saturday, a 0-0 draw with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro, and was rested for the next match as they beat De Graafschap 2-0.
On Sunday Oliver played in the semi-final but they lost 2-0 to eventual tournament winners Ajax.
The third/fourth place play-off saw them in action against Liverpool, and Oliver was rested as they beat the Anfield side 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
Boss Jan Versleijen said, "It was a great result to finish third in the tournament; we built up from the start of the matches and improved as we continued.
"I had the opportunity to play a lot of players and everybody got the opportunity to play which was important."
The u20s face Egypt in a friendly on Tuesday evening, then enter another tournament later this week featuring Celtic, PSV Eindhoven and also Ajax again.
