Reading will find out their first round Carling Cup opponents at 9:30am on next Tuesday 16th June.

All Football League clubs enter at the first round stage, with the exception of Newcastle & Middlesbrough, who have been given byes based on the number of teams we have in this season's Europa League.

First round ties take place during the week of Wednesday 12th August, just a few days after the first League match of the campaign.

Games are generally regionalised in the first round and split on a north/south basis.
