Reading Football Club are pleased to announce that Dean Austin, Frank Lampard Sr and Karl Halabi are set to join the coaching staff at Madejski Stadium.

The trio are set to put pen to paper in the next few days on three-year contracts with Reading and all join from Watford, where they worked under the Royals' new manager Brendan Rodgers.

A former Spurs and Crystal Palace right back, Austin began his coaching career with Southend in 2007 before joining Rodgers as his assistant at Watford in November 2008. He will adopt the role of Assistant Manager at Reading.

Lampard Sr, father of Chelsea midfielder Frank, made more than 550 appearances as a left back for West Ham and returned to Upton Park to assume an assistant managerial role alongside his brother-in-law Harry Redknapp in 1994. He will continue to act as a Football Consultant to Rodgers.

Karl Halabi began his football career as a young player at Reading before working under Rodgers in the club's Academy set-up. Further experience at Fulham and Chelsea earned Halabi a position as Football Physiologist at Vicarage Road and he will return to Reading to assume the same position.

Royals manager Brendan Rodgers said, "I am thrilled to be joined at Reading by three of my most valued and trusted colleagues in football.

"Spending much of his career at a club like Tottenham Hotspur, Dean has played at the highest level of the domestic game.

"He will be a fantastic man to have assisting me on the training ground and stood beside me on the sidelines.

"Frank boasts a wealth of experience in football and has proven pedigree in nurturing young talent - especially from his time spent with a fantastic crop of Academy players at West Ham.

"He will be an excellent role model to all of our players and provide fantastic guidance to me as manager."

"Karl left Reading to get his qualifications in America and returned to go on to bigger things with Fulham and Chelsea.

"He has worked alongside me here, with Chelsea's reserve team and at Watford and so completely understands my methods. I am delighted he has joined my team once more at Reading."
