Brendan Rodgers' first game as Reading manager will be at home to Nottingham Forest.

The season starts on Saturday 8th August, and we face Billy Davies' side first, followed by a trip to Newcastle United a week later for what will be the Magpies' first home game after relegation to the Coca-Cola Championship.

Next after that is a midweek trip to Swansea, followed by a home match with Sheffield United. The trip north to Barnsley completes August's fixtures.

We are at home to Swansea on Boxing Day, and there are no fixtures on New Year's Day this season.

The campaign concludes on Sunday 2nd May with a home game against Preston North End, and the penultimate match sees Brendan return to Vicarage Road when we take on his former club Watford.

Sky and BBC both have broadcasting rights for the Football League this season, and they will make their choices for live games in due course.

Some points of note are:
-Free international weekends on Saturday 5th September, Saturday 10th October and Saturday 14th November.

-Two games over the Easter weekend, Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th April, but only one on the August bank holiday weekend; Saturday 29th August.

-The Championship play-off final is on a Saturday and takes place a week before the League One and League Two finals. This is a result of World Cup 2010; the cut-off period to be included in a World Cup squad is Wed 26th May and the play-off final has to be before then.

-Fifth round dates in the League Cup clash with matchday five in the Europa League. Therefore if we draw a Europa League team in the League Cup fifth round, we would have to move the League Cup tie.
