Hamer signs two-year deal
Goalkeeper Ben Hamer has signed a new two-year contract with the Club, tying him to Reading until the summer 2011.
Hamer, 21, will now contest for the number one spot at Madejski Stadium after spending loan spells with Brentford in the last two seasons.
He helped the Bees gain promotion by winning the League Two championship in May, and he won the Puma Golden Glove award as the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the division.
Director Of Football Nick Hammond told readingfc.co.uk, "We are delighted that Ben is committing himself to us with this new contract.
"Ben has a lot of Football League experience under his belt for such a young goalkeeper.
"After his loans he now comes back to us to be very much part of our plans for next season and to contest for the jersey."
He played 49 games for the Griffin Park side this year, and lined up in a further 21 matches in two separate loans the season before.
Despite being only 21, he has already racked up a total of 115 career appearances, having spent the 2006/7 campaign on loan at Crawley where he was named their young player of the season.
