New manager Brendan Rodgers wants to have a great relationship with the Reading supporters.
Rodgers has described himself as 'the biggest Reading supporter' and has pledged to 'give his life' in order to bring success to our loyal supporters.
He told readingfc.co.uk, "Our supporters are absolutely vital.
"They are down as number 13 on the teamsheet - and they certainly are just that.
"The atmosphere they can create, and the intensity of their emotion, it helps the players, no question.
"It's my job, with the players, to ensure that energy returns and the way to do that is with entertaining and exciting football - and of course winning football.
"The fans are a major factor and I say to them 'I can't do it on my own, I can't do it without you.'
"The message I give to them is that I am now one of you. I am the biggest supporter of Reading and I will give my life to the Football Club.
"I have known this club for a long time, and the only difference between us now is that I am stood on the sidelines and you are sat in the stand.
"I have to remove emotion but my fight will always be for them and for the Club.
"For that, I am really looking forward to us having a great relationship together."
