Craig Mortimer-Zhika has been named as Reading Football Club's new Head Of Communications.
Craig has worked for the Club for eight-and-a-half years, working his way up through the communications team before now taking over as head of the department.
His communications team, assisted by award-winning programme editor Mark Bradley, oversees our official matchday programme, official website and the Club's media relations.
Chief Executive Nigel Howe said, "I am pleased to announce that Craig has been promoted to this position. Having been here for eight years he knows the Club very well, and I am sure supporters, colleagues and media will join me in wishing him the best of luck in his new role."
Craig added, "I would like to place on record my thanks to the board as I take up this new role.
"This is a very exciting time for the Football Club and like every supporter I am very much looking forward to the season ahead. In Brendan Rodgers we have a new manager who is young, dynamic and forward-thinking, and we want our communications to reflect that.
"It goes without saying that open and accurate communication with supporters is absolutely vital and it is my job to make sure that happens. I want to ensure that our avenues of communication are two-way, and I would encourage supporters to drop me a line at cmortimer@readingfc.co.uk with any questions you may have now and throughout the season.
"I will also be the first point of contact for media, and I look forward to continuing our good relationships on a local, national and international level."
Craig, 31, has lived in Reading for 16 years and has followed the Royals since standing on the South Bank at Elm Park. His uncle Dennis Mortimer was captain of Aston Villa's European Cup-winning team in 1982.
Craig takes over from previous Head Of Communications Andy West, who left Madejski Stadium earlier this summer to pursue freelance work after 11 years' service.
