Reading 3 (Sigurdsson 11, Antonio 35, own goal 80)
A Reading XI earned a 3-0 win over Ryman League side Tooting & Mitcham in a friendly encounter at their Imperial Fields stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Gylfi Sigurdsson opened the scoring on 11; skipper and former Tooting man Michail Antonio made it 2-0 on 35 minutes and a late own goal finished off the scoring.
Chris Armstrong played 66 minutes as he continues his comeback from injury, while Andre Bikey got a full game.
Irish striker David Mooney played his first game of pre-season, having missed the midweek match at Didcot following the birth of his daughter Ava.
Coach Nigel Gibbs told readingfc.co.uk, "It was a good workout for us and we played some decent stuff at times
"We got going with a nice goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson, who finished well after David Mooney had a cross/shot saved.
"From Gylfi's corner Michail Antonio then headed home at the back post and we were 2-0 up at the break.
"The second half was a bit scrappy at first and Alex McCarthy made some good saves to preserve the team's clean sheet, having come on at half time.
"Just after the hour we changed to a diamond and got our passing going again with some decent play; we had a couple of chances to score again.
"Then late on we got a third goal when one of the Tooting lads headed into his own net from a corner."
Reading (4-3-3): Andersen (McCarthy HT); Davies (Joyce 84), Armstrong (O Kelly 66), Bikey, MacDonald (Mills 66); Bozanic, Sigurdsson, Bryant (Rowe 80); Antonio (c) (Stockinger 84), Bignall (Taylor 72), Mooney (White 66)
