Reading's reserves beat Bromley 2-0 on Thursday evening thanks to goals from Mitchell Bryant and triallist striker Taylor Morgan.
Bryant opened the scoring in the first half after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and substitute Morgan doubled the advantage in the second half.
Morgan is an England Schools international and is on trial with our Academy squad for the week.
Reserve team boss Nigel Gibbs said, "I was pleased with the performance and with the goals we scored.
"For the first goal we worked it well in midfield, then James Rowe played a lovely ball inbetween the defenders that Mitchell Bryant got onto and finished well.
"We played some good stuff in the first half, the pitch was difficult but we created chances and maybe the final bit let us down.
"The second half was a bit tighter but I was pleased that the lads dug in for a clean sheet. They had to dog it out, the keeper made a couple of good saves as well.
"Then we got a second on the counter-attack. Jake Taylor played in Taylor Morgan and he finished for 2-0."
