Royals seeded in round two draw

The draw for the second round of the Carling Cup takes place tonight, after the conclusion of the final first round matches.

Reading will be seeded, and in this round there is no north/south divide so we could face a trip further afield.

The teams have been split into 25 seeds and non-seeds based on League positions last season.

Ties will be played week commencing 24th August.

Seeds: Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Bristol City, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Cardiff City, Hull City, Ipswich Town, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United, Portsmouth, Preston North End, QPR, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, Swansea City, Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, West Brom, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic, Wolves.

Un-seeded: Accrington Stanley, Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Blackpool, Carlisle United, Coventry or Hartlepool United, Crystal Palace, Doncaster Rovers, Gillingham, Hereford United, Huddersfield Town, Leeds United, Leyton Orient, Macclesfield Town or Leicester City, Millwall, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest or Bradford City, Peterborough United, Port Vale, Rotherham United, Scunthorpe United, Southampton, Southend United, Swindon Town, Tranmere Rovers.

Byes: Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Villa, Fulham
