Marek Matejovsky says he is fit for selection in tonight's Carling Cup first round match against Burton.
The Czech midfielder missed the goalless draw with Forest due to a groin injury, but the 27-year-old is ready to make his return to action this evening, kick off 8pm.
"I didn't train for one week but during that time I was in the gym and on the pitch so my fitness is not too bad," he said.
"I need a bit more strength in my groin because it wasn't too good last week. But I am fit for the game and hopefully I will stay there.
"It was a good game on Saturday and we were a little bit unlucky because we didn't score. It's important to perform and get the right result but I will be happy if I can play more games and stay fit."
The Royals are expected to make changes to the starting eleven that played on Saturday and Matejovsky says the players' desire to perform for the new management will push the side on.
"We must show the gaffer that we want to be on the pitch. We played many matches in pre-season and every player showed that they can play in the first eleven.
"I hope every game we can win because the team is good and I think the psychology and strategy from the gaffer is very good."
Tickets for this evening's game are on general sale now to all Member Card holders, priced £12 adults and £7 concessions. Telephone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit in person.
