Henry: Killer instinct is next

Posted on: Tue 11 Aug 2009
James Henry hopes the Royals can continue their development under Brendan Rodgers when they face Burton Albion in the first round of the Carling Cup tonight.

"Everyone was happy with the whole team's performance," Henry said after looking back on Saturday's 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest.

"Watching it from the sidelines, I thought the boys played really well. We were a bit unlucky not to get the goal really.

"The style of football we are playing is a lot different to last year. It is a lot more continental and I think we are adapting well to it. We just need to find a bit more killer instinct and I think we will have a really great chance this season."

Henry was one of eight players in the squad for Saturday's match who have graduated from the Academy system, and he believes it can only be good for the future of the Royals

"It's brilliant, everyone is coming through at the same time. Hopefully the club can keep producing great players."

Looking ahead to tonight's Carling Cup clash, Henry stated that he had only one thing in mind.

"We have to play some good football, but obviously the first aim tonight is to win and see ourselves into the hat for the next round."

Tickets for this evening's game are on general sale now to all Member Card holders, priced £12 adults and £7 concessions. Telephone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit in person.
