Stephen Hunt has completed his move to Hull City.
The Tigers have paid a sizeable fee to secure the 29-year-old's services, and the exact terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
Director Of Football Nick Hammond said, "Stephen Hunt has been a very effective player in the four years he has been at Reading Football Club, and given us great value.
"He developed enormously as a player here, coming to us on a free transfer and going on to become an established international player.
"He has made it known for some time that he was ready for a new challenge, and this is a good move for all three parties. We wish him all the very best for the future."
Hunt joined Reading on a free transfer in the summer of 2005, and helped us secure the Coca-Cola Championship title in his first season at Madejski Stadium.
In his second season he became a mainstay in the starting XI and played more than 30 games as we finished eighth in the Barclays Premier League. His numerous assists and incisive play saw him make his Ireland debut in February 2007, and he was third in our player of the season vote.
In the 2007/8 campaign he was player of the season; playing in all but one of our Premier League games, scoring seven goals in all competitions and wearing the captain's armband for the first time.
Last season he played in every one of our Championship fixtures, scoring another seven goals as we narrowly missed out on promotion in the play-off semi-finals.
In total he played 122(+51) games for the Club, scoring 21 goals. During his time at Madejski Stadium he also won 18 caps for Ireland and found the net once.
