Training change for Royals

Posted on: Sat 15 Aug 2009
New boss Brendan Rodgers has introduced a change to the Royals' working patterns during international weeks.

This Thursday the entire squad trained at 3:30pm, as opposed to the regular start time of 10:30am.

This gives those on international duty the time to return from overseas, but still train with the entire group and quickly focus on the next fixture, rather than waiting until Friday to be fully incorporated into training.

Brendan explained, "We look to do this on every international week and you have to respect that some players are all over the world.

"This method allows them to come back into the group as soon as possible and we can assess their fitness. Everybody seemed fine this week."
