Back on the goal trail then Noel - 2 goals!
Yeah, it could have been more. We did what we haven't done in previous games and we got balls in the box, we were playing fantastically. Big test too from a goal down - it's a big credit to the boys, it's really for them today - so I'm pleased for everyone and we really deserved it.
What was said when you went a goal down - did you actually speak to each other?
Yeah, we tried to rally each other up - the boys are great, it's like a family. We kept the belief; Pearcey got a magnificent goal to get us back in it, we kept the pressure on and thankfully Jimmy's made a good run and he's taken down for the peno, and obviously we killed them early doors after that, so thankfully we got the win.
After they scored, there was only one team in it really.
Yeah, we've earned that - we've played some great stuff, we've just been killed at the wrong time in previous games - but today our defence was magnificent, midfielders were on their game, we really hounded their boys and it's all credit to each and every one of them.
For yourself and Reading, you must feel as though you can really push on from here now?
Yeah absolutely, it's a couple of weeks now before we've got a game and it's a couple of weeks for me to get even fitter. Obviously it's only my second game since I've been out for six months, so I'm delighted to get back on the score sheet and hopefully they'll keep on coming now.
And an important win for the manager.
Yeah, it's big for the gaffer. He's been fantastic since he's come in - he's really changed the way we play - and he never lost confidence, he always gave us the belief. He said this is going to happen today; we're going to win and it's going to click and it did. Even when we went a goal down we thought the gaffer was right and if we just keep on believing we'll be fine - and it did.
He's brought in a lot of new ideas and the boys are adapting to them, and today I think it clicked a bit and we can only get better. With the manager and the staff behind him, we've been great and they've been fantastic - they've really given an extra dimension to the team. It's great for us as players to learn what he's learnt and you bring that extra thing to the game, it brings extra things to everyone's games.
