Lita wishes Royals well

Posted on: Mon 05 Oct 2009

Leroy Lita returned to Madejski Stadium this past weekend with Middlesbrough, and he wishes the club continued success in the future.

He received a good ovation from our supporters, and said, "I had a great time here, I played in the best team in the club's history so I'm thankful for the reception and I wish this club, the fans and the manager all the best."

After finding the net in the first half, Lita's goal celebration was respectfully muted, and he explained, "I've always had a great relationship with the Reading fans and I'm thankful for that.

"We were here to do a job, we've all done our jobs and now we move on. I apologised after celebrating with the Boro fans, which I thought was appropriate. I apologise again, but I was here to do a job. We came here to win and I'm happy about that."
