Brendan Rodgers believes the Reading supporters have been more than fair in their continued backing for his team.
Reading were unable to follow up their classy midweek win at Preston with a result against third placed Middlesbrough on Saturday, and Brendan shares our fans' desire for consistency.
"I can understand the fans, that's part of what we have to take as a team and as a manager," he said.
"They're not anywhere near what they can be at some clubs, I'll tell you that. I think when you have a group of supporters who go that long without a home win you understand.
"The fans have been fair, look at other performances; we played very well against Cardiff and lost and the guys got a standing ovation. Saturday there was frustration because we were lacklustre, which was very disappointing from our perspective."
The Northern Irishman was disappointed with his side's lack of cutting edge in the 2-0 defeat, and has vowed to put it right before a tough trip to West Brom in two weeks' time.
"We need to work hard over the next few weeks, go to West Brom and look for a positive result. We need to work very, very hard on creating more chances and taking opportunities to score, and ultimately to win if we want to achieve what we want to achieve - which is to progress to the top end of this league."
