Cummings remains positive

Posted on: Fri 09 Oct 2009

Shaun Cummings has declared that those remaining at Hogwood Park will be putting in the hard work, as a number of Royals head off for the international break.

The full back is one of a cluster of talented stars still training in Berkshire, and insists that the effort levels will be stepped up a notch despite the absence of competitive football this weekend.

"We've got the international break, but we're still working how we always do - the intensity is still great," he said.

"We've shown that in the games, we just need a bit of luck now just like we had at Preston."

The former Chelsea man is the latest to call for calm at the Madejski, and maintains that a change in fortunes is just around the corner.

"We're just trying to stay positive, that's the main thing, after getting a good win against Preston we were disappointed not to take that into the Middlesbrough game, but we just have to keep pressing and it'll come.

"In all the games since I've been here we've played decent football and we've played how Brendan wants Reading to play, we just need to get a run going now and then we'll be up there. There are plenty of games left, everyone's beating everyone in this league and you never know where you're going to end up so our focus is just to keep playing how we're playing and to get the results."
