The Royals took on Leicester City this evening and lost to a goal against the run of play on the stroke of half time. See details in the clockwatch below.

7.15pm The teams are in an Brendan Rodgers has made six changes to the side that lost at QPR last week. Simon Church and Grzegorz Rasiak start in attack, while Marek Matejovsky gets a recall as does Gylfi Sigurdsson in midfield.

Darren O'Dea misses out through injury, so Alex Pearce partners Matt Mills in defence as Ivar Ingimarsson serves his suspension.

6 mins - Simon Church has the first effort on goal. He runs at the Foxes defence and strikes it from 30 yards, but it takes a slight deflection and bobbles harmlessly wide of the left post.

8 mins - Matty Fryatt has Leicester's first effort and Reading's defence looks a little bit panicky. He shoots on the turn but wide of the bottom right corner.

10 mins - A sublime ball from Matejovsky picks out Rasiak running from left to right on the edge of the box. He has time ti turn back onto his left boot but he can't pull the trigger before Foxes bodies are swarming around him and Reading have to make do with a corner.

16 mins - Matejovsky picks out Rasiak with a pinpont pass and the Pole turns a shoots left-footed across the goal and just wide of the bottom right corner. That was close.

21 mins - Matejovsky threads a beautiful reverse pass into Rasiak who reads it well. He's in here but Weale saves with his legs, only for the linesman's flag to go up against Rasiak.

25 mins - From a Tabb throw in Reading's half the Royals break through Church and McAnuff and Church lofts the ball back into McAnuff's path. he brings it down well and shoots but it comes back off the inside of the left post. McAnuff has another bite of the cherry with his left boot but it takes a deflection off McGivern and goes wide. The referee points for a goal kick to make matter worse. So unlucky!

28 mins - A series of tight passes sees Matejovsky feed Church and he turns to shoot with his left feet. It's not troubling Weale though and fizzes wide of the right post.

30 mins - Waghorn tumbles over as he tries to scurry into the box, but he manages to tee up Gallagher, who curls an effort towards the top right corner. It's just too high though and it will be a goal kick.

32 mins - Reading break in numbers, Matejovsky through the middle. He delays too long but finds McAnuff to his right. The winger can only win a corner though.

34 mins - Rasiak battles for it and it falls kindly for Church. He is in space and has the time to shoot, but his left footed effort flies wide of the far post. A great chance. Reading have to make this pressure count.

36 mins - Howard wins a free kick on the left and Sigurdsson whips it in. Rasiak is lurking but Berner takes it off his head with a great backward header yards out. Reading work it short from the corner and some superb passing sees it pop out to Church, who hammers it goalwards only to see Weale save spectacularly to his left. A great effort from Church.

40 mins - McAnuff breaks down the right. He finds Howard who backheels it to Church. Church winds up to shoot but scuffs his effort well wide of the right post.

45 mins - Completely against the run of play, Leicester score. Utterly ridiculous. Martyn Waghorn wins a header from a corner and places it perfectly past Federici. A great header!

45 mins - From the restart Federici has to deny the Foxes a second with a good save with his feet. It's deja vu on a large scale.

HALF TIME - The home fans applaud the side off at the break. They know Reading have been much the better side. And yet somehow they are behind again. Heads can't go down - Reading need to flight for their lives in the second half.

50 mins - McAnuff spins past McGivern and he's away down the right. He cuts the ball back for Church who swings a right leg at it but it skids just wide of the right post. So nearly an equaliser.

51 mins - A well weighted ball over the top has Fryatt running onto it. He's to quick for Mills and Federici storms off his line to save with his chest. Reading could have been 2-0 down there.

56 mins - Sigurdsson does well to turn 30 yards out take a touch towards goal, turn onto his left foot and shoot, but the shot is deflected to McAnuff. He chips a ball back in but City heads win it and the danger disappears.

59 mins - Double Leicester substituttion. Matty Fryatt is replaced by Steve Howard. And DJ Campbell is on for Martyn Waghorn. 

62 mins - Rasiak holds it well and touches it into Bertrand's path. He fizzes a low cross across the six yard box but no-one is there to touch it home. McAnuff recycles and does exactly the same but no-one is there to tap it home.

64 mins - Readign double sub: Shane Long and Jimmy Kebe are on for Simon Church and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

68 mins - Long and Rasiak play head tennis back and forth to each other and Long powers a right footed shot over the bar from 22 yards out.

71 mins - A deep cross from McAnuff finds Kebe who heads it back inside. It falls for Kebe to shoot but he skews his first time effort so wide if flies out for a throw.

73 mins - Howard lets rip with a left footed effort from 25 yards but it takes a deflection off a Foxes head and spirals just wide. Nothing will go for Reading tonight you fear.

77 mins - Pearce makes a complete hash of it to concede a throw. It's taken, long and looping into the box. Campbell holds off his man and nudges it goalwards but wide of the right post. The corner comes to nothing.

79 mins - Kebe wins a corner and Reading take it short to McAnuff who reaches the byline and crosses. It deflects off a Leicester head to arrows to Mills who can only sidefoot it over the bar. It came quickly to him so that was a difficult chance.

81 mins - Matejovsky fizzes a great ball through to Kebe who can control and run in on goal from the right. His touch isn't great which takes him a bit wide for the shot so he cuts it across looking for Long. Long can't get there and a swipe from a Leicester leg deflects it behind for a corner.

85 mins - Foxes sub. Gallagher will be replaced by Berner for the dying stages.

87 mins - Leicester are seeing this out comfortably and Matt Oakley almost adds a second but puts his left footed effort wide. Reading's passing is going astray now though.

90(+3) mins - Reading committing numbers forward leave gaps and Howard drives only inches wide of the left post.

FULL TIME - More disappointment and Reading remain in the relegation zone. Good stuff early on, a slice of luck goes against Brendan Rodgers' men, a bit less impetus second half, same story.
