2:30pm - Teams are in. One change for Reading; Ivar Ingimarsson in for Matt Mills, who has a knee injury. Jimmy Kebe is out with a groin problem so Darren O'Dea, back from a groin problem of his own, takes a place among the subs.

2:35pm - Coventry keeper Keiren Westwood is not fit so Dimi Konstantopolous starts in goal. Leon Best is only fit for a sub's role.

2.56pm - The two teams are led out and Ivar Ingimarsson completes the pre-match formalities alongside the mascots, officials and a Coventry mascot which resembles a very saggy elephant.

1 mins - GOAL! No sooner has the game kicked off and Reading have the lead. McAnuff stands a cross up to the far post to end a flowing move with a Rasiak header that flies past Dimi Konstantopoulos.

5 mins - Reading are well on top. McAnuff does well down the right but Church makes a mess of controlling his low centre. Sigurdsson has a shot from distance but it fizzes well wide.

7 mins - Bertrand skips through two challenges and into the box. He shoots with his left foot but the City keeper is down well to gather. Good work from the left back.

8 mins - Superb passing from Reading see them switch it from wing to wing and Matejovsky crosses low into Church. He sweeps a right leg around it but it arrows just wide of the bottom right corner. That was a half chance that went begging.

9 mins - Church on the charge from midfield and he's muscled off it. He falls awkwardly but he's ok to get on with it.

11 mins - Tabb with a searching cross from the right. Rasiak is lurking but a City head clears it just before th Pole can get a forehead to it.

14 mins - Reading try the Sunday league charge from a free kick and it works a treat - Cork heads it home but he's flagged offside. Federici launches a counter and it ends with Howard shooting wide from a tight angle.

21 mins - The home side starting to come into the game now. A corner causes concer for the Royals but Federici pounces on a hooked effort on target.

26 mins - Church holds the ball well and touches it back for Howard. He scurries forward and shoots left-footed from 25 yards but it flies wide of the keeper and the left upright.

31 mins - Reading look most troubled from long throws and corners thrown into the box and a loose ball drops to Aron Gunnarsson who hooks it just over the crossbar. Reading breathe again.

34 mins - McAnuff gets the ball back from Tabb from a throw on the right. He crosses over the keeper and Rasiak is waiting at the far post again, but this time a last gasp City header concedes a corner.

43 mins - Church wins a header and Rasiak feeds McAnuff on the right. He scuttles inside and is still going. He shoots from the edge of the area but it's easy for Konstantopoulos.

HALF TIME - Reading lead and deservedly. It's all about the Royals' second half performance now. And we might need that bit of luck for a change too. Fingers firmly crossed.

47 mins - Federici has to half punch away from a corner but Reading concede a second. This one is cleared more comfortably.

52 mins - McAnuff preys on van Aanholt's touch and wins it. He feeds the overlapping Tabb, who bustles through two tackles and shoots, but it deflects off a Sky Blue shirt and out for a throw.

54 mins - McAnuff runs at his man and tries to run onto Rasiak's pass back to him, It's cut out but Howard's cross is nodded into the marker-free McAnuff's feet. The winger hammers a right-footed effort into the top left corner. 2-0!

56 mins - Royals sub: Church, who has run his socks off, is replaced by Shane Long.

57 mins - Coventry double sub: McIndoe is off for Leon Best and Aron Gunnarsson is on for Isaac Osbourne.

58 mins - The Royals win a corner on the right and McAnuff arrows it in. Rasiak hooks a volley at goal but Konstantopoulos saves well low to his left.

59 mins - McAnuff cuts in from the left this time and unleashes a shot from distance. It's beaten the City keeper but skids just wide of the bottom left corner.

60 mins - City attack down the right and Cork controls it inside the box. He shoots towards the near post from a narrow angle but Federici pulls off a great save to tip it onto his crossbar.

62 mins - A simple long ball forward from the keeper is flicked on in the air and Best is in here! He only has Federici to beat but the Aussie saves with his legs and it bounces just wide. Coventry are looking good now.

64 mins - GOAL! It was coming. Eastwood is allowed the time and space to turn on the ball and rifle an unstoppable 22-yard drive low past Federici and inside the right upright.

69 mins - Royals sub: Howard is replaced by Jem Karacan.

71 mins - Long wins a corner on the right and Pearce wins the header. It's headed off the line at the near post - so close.

72 mins - Reading recycle it though. Sigurdsson crosses into the box and Long shoots from the edge of the box. It bounces up off the surface and strikes the right post. It comes back to Rasiak, who lets the ball drop and then volleys it high into the top left corner.

73 mins - City sub: Van Aanholt is replaced by Chris Hussey.

76 mins - Ingimarsson is clattered in a clumsy aerial challenge from Hussey. He'll need some treatment here. Hussey is carded.

87 mins - Reading showing plenty of spirit here. Fighting hard to deny Coventry another route back into the game.

89 mins - Reading wasting time in the far corners now. This is good. The Ricoh has gone flat.

90 mins - Four minutes of injury time will be played.

90(+1) mins - The excellent McAnuff scurries down the left and shoots from an impossible angle. It squirms under the City keeper and bobbles just beyond the far post - Long unable to get the decisive touch.

90(+3) mins - City break at pace down the right. A low cross comes all the way across to Jordan Clarke, who spoons a 10 yard effort high into the stands and towards some alarmed stewards dressed in pumpkin orange.

FULL TIME - Finally Reading get what they deserve! A comprehensive victory and an impressive performance. The away support applaud the team off and Brendan Rodgers who acknowledges the fans with a thumbs up.
