Marek Matejovsky says he is adapting well to his new role as a deep-lying playmaker, and has full confidence that the Royals' strikers can finish any opportunities presented to them.
The Czech international curled in a pinpoint cross for Grzegorz Rasiak to head home the match-winner against Blackpool this past weekend, but refused to take any credit for the well earned victory.
"It is a bit different playing in the middle with Brian than it has been for me at other clubs," he said.
"I'm playing in front of the central defenders more and have to play more balls from the 'keeper and the full backs, but it was good last game and I hope it will be the same in the next few games.
"I don't score many goals as I'm a bit more of a passer - but if Grzegorz or Churchy are the scorers then that's good for the team, it doesn't matter as long as it's the team winning. All the strikers here are really good and can help us."
Saturday's win came at the end of a successful week for the 27-year-old, who made an impressive return for his national team during the international break - turning out for the Czech Republic after being recalled to the squad by new manager Vladimir Smicer.
"Last week I was called up by the national team for the first time in a long while, so it's a happy time for me. I played 90 minutes on Sunday and 75 on Wednesday, the first games for the new manager. It was a young team but I enjoyed the matches."
