Brian Howard may have broken his jaw in Saturday's 2-1 Coca-Cola Championship defeat away to Derby.

The midfielder was back defending a corner in the 20th minute, and was caught while trying to clear the ball.

He went to hospital while the game was still in progress, and manager Brendan Rodgers said afterwards, "It looks like he's broken his jaw.

"He may need an operation and we'll wait for news on that. We'll know more once we speak to the medical people."
