Striker Thorvaldsson jetting in

Posted on: Sat 12 Dec 2009
Icelandic international striker Gunnar Thorvaldsson will once again join in with the Royals in training this week.

The 27-year-old was at Hogwood Park towards the end of last month, and scored two goals in a behind-closed-doors friendly fixture against Bristol Rovers.

He currently plays for Danish top flight side Esbjerg, and discussions are taking place between the two clubs regarding the possibility of a move to England.

Royals boss Brendan Rodgers said, "He did well in the ten days he was here last time, he is technically strong and is a link striker, he looked good.

"This is his chance in English football so he comes with a good motivation to do well. He's highly rated and people I know in Europe spoke highly of him. He fitted in well, he was hard-working."

His two goals in that friendly are on Reading FC Player now.
