Matt - 'I wouldn't celebrate'
Royals centre half Matt Mills has revealed that a goal against his old club would be a special moment in his career, but not one that would prompt a celebration.
The former Rovers man played over 70 games for Donny during a two season spell at the Keepmoat, but says that if he does bag his first goal since October - he will react in a subdued manner.
"One of the lads asked me this morning what I'd do if I scored, and I wouldn't celebrate just out of respect for the club," he revealed.
"That doesn't mean I don't want to score more than ever, a goal on Saturday would be very nice, I've got a couple this season but I don't think they'd mean as much as a goal against my old club."
Saturday's trip to South Yorkshire will be the first time Matt has met his former paymasters since arriving at Madejski Stadium this summer, and the defender refused to speculate on what kind of reception he could expect to receive.
"I would like to have a good reception, as all players would when they go back to an old club, but it's not always the way - we'll see come Saturday. I'm not going to let it play on my mind or make a big deal out of it," he said.
"I joined them just outside the relegation zone in League One, we got promoted that year and obviously staying up last year was a big achievement for the club. Them selling me on at the start of the year was good for Doncaster and good for me so there's no reason it shouldn't be a happy return."
