Brian respectful of Donny challenge
Brian McDermott has revealed his respect for Sean O'Driscoll's footballing philosophy, but says his side will look to take the game to Doncaster on Saturday evening.
The Royals travel to the Keepmoat for a televised clash with Rovers, with the Reading boss looking to make it two wins out of two since taking over the reins full time at Madejski Stadium.
"Doncaster are a good footballing side and we know them really well. Sean puts his team together to pass the ball and play in the right way," he said.
"We will go there to try and win the game, we will be positive, get as many crosses in and shots off as we possibly can and make sure that we're difficult to beat."
McDermott also took time to pay tribute to former Royal John Oster, who will come up against his old club this weekend after signing for Doncaster this summer following a spell at Crystal Palace.
"I know Johnny really well from my time at Reading and I'll be looking forward to seeing him," admitted Brian.
"He's done fabulously, he's a real key player who makes things happen. He's always been a good player, when he was here he would fill in for Glen Little and he had a key role to play in the Premier League and trying to get us in the Premier League."
Another man who will see plenty of familiar names on both sides of the teamsheet is Matt Mills, and the new Reading chief wasn't short of praise for our in-form defender.
"He's done really well, when Matt first came to the club he hadn't played too many games but he's done that training now, he's played some games, looked after himself, got fit and he looks a really good centre half.
"There's definitely more to come from him but he's young in terms of a centre half, he's got great attributes, he wins his headers, he can pass it and he reads the game well so I'm sure he's got a bright future."
