Live updates
4:20pm - Reading's team is in. Gylfi Sigurdsson is out injured so Jimmy Kebe comes in, while Brian Howard replaces Simon Church and we go 4-2-3-1. Scott Davies makes the bench and Matt Mills lines up against his former club.
4:30pm - Our goalkeepers are out to warm up. Ben Hamer smacks the ball into an open net and mockingly celebrates, receiving ironic applause from Adam Federici and coach Sal Bibbo! Down the other end Rovers 'keeper Neil Sullivan tries to hit the crossbar from 30 yards and succeeds first time.
4:40pm - Reading are out to warm up now, and they're in the white strip today with green shorts. There's a fair few sets of gloves being used, it's rather chilly out there.
4:50pm - Donny's team is in, and as expected John Oster starts for the home side. Shelton Martis is in for his debut after signing on loan from West Brom in midweek, and he replaces Sam Hird.
5pm - Good reception for Matt Mills. Dion Dublin is pitchside for a live interview on Sky Sports, and both sets of teams are making their way back into the dressing rooms for final preparations.
5:10pm - Good banter from the Donny PA man, who stumbles over sub Thorvaldsson but laughs it off with our supporters. He then gets Khizanishvili spot on and receives a loud cheer!
5:18pm - The teams are out and we'll be underway very soon. All nine of the Doncaster mascots are making their way off the pitch.
5:20pm - We're underway. Long and Kebe get in a mix-up but we've soon got possession back.
2mins - Good early tempo and both sides have had decent possession. Interestingly, Kebe is left wing and McAnuff on the right.
4mins - First shot on target is from Dean Shiels but it's an easy save for Federici.
7mins - Another Donny shot and this time Mark Wilson shoots wide. The home side are clearly comfortable in possession and they're just beginning to get a foothold.
11mins - Nice ball out to James Coppinger but he's offside and volleys well off target anyway. The home side seem to be using their right wing to good effect.
15mins - James O'Connor should be in the book for a foul on Jobi McAnuff four yards outside the box....Howard takes the set piece and it's a superb save from Neil Sullivan, especially as it took a slight knick off the wall on the way.
17mins - Free kick to Rovers on the edge of the box but Federici saves from Oster without a problem. The game has perhaps settled a little, which is good for Reading as the home side had started well.
22mins - Reading come close again, and once more it's Howard. Kebe did very well down the right to work space and he fires in a cracking cross. Howard gets in front of his man but heads only a couple of feet wide. Nice play.
23mins - The Royals have good possession but are unable to get a cross in. Rovers quickly play it up to Billy Sharp, and he does well to run 25 yards in possession but shoots a yard or so over.
25mins - Excellent break from Reading down the right. Long flicks on Griffin's pass and Kebe is away. He could square it early for Howard but instead picks out McAnuff, which is a good option but McAnuff can't control under pressure and the chance is gone. Reading on top at the moment and it's a decent spectacle.
29mins - Both teams have decent possession on the edge of the opposition area but can't find that final pass into the box.
33mins - Kebe maybe has a break on but loses possession and Rovers get it up to Sharp, who again does well but we block his shot from eight yards.
34mins - Another cracking run from Kebe, dancing past three men but Sullivan just gets there first as it breaks into the box. The Malian has been involved in all our best play so far.
39mins - GOAL! Long makes it 1-0. Howard does brilliantly down the right and works space for a cross. Long gets a head on it and powers it past Sullivan, the goalie no chance.
40mins - Rovers look for an immediate response and Bertrand has to defend well. His important header comes to Chambers on the edge and Federici has to save well from his stinging volley. The loose ball falls to Coppinger but thankfully he's offside.
42mins - Cries of 'Brian give us a wave' go up from our supporters and the new manager duly obliges to our loyal fans who made the trip up the M1 today. The attendance figure is already in by the way and it's 8,827. We've asked for the away fans number and will update you if we get it.
44mins - Rovers are keen to get back on terms before the break and they want a corner but won't get it from referee Taylor. One minute added time to be played.
HALF TIME - It's been a good game and Reading have broken the deadlock with a very good goal. Rovers have more than played their part but Brian Howard's turn and cross, combined with Shane Long's header, has proven the key moment so far.
46mins - We're back underway and Sharp shoots well over.
47mins - Mills does well to stop a Rovers break in its tracks. Then Long goes on a very good run but we can't get a clear chance.
48mins - Howard advances well and Martis is very fortunate to win the ball - he completely mistimed his tackle and his trailling leg fell on the ball.
50mins - McAnuff harshly booked. The free kick comes to nothing.
51mins - Long is clearly fouled after showing his defender a clean pair of heels, and the striker is incredulous when the referee not only ignores his appeal, but tells him to get up to his feet. Questionable decision.
54mins - Decent chance for Rovers. A Chambers cross smashes into Mills and falls to Shiels 12 yards out, but his volley is wild.
56mins - The fourth official is fixing the linesman's collar as Reading prepare to take a corner. The set piece comes to nothing and Griffin controls a dropping ball well despite being blinded by the Keepmoat floodlights.
59mins - Bertrand booked for timewasting. The decision, and the referee's 50-yard run, takes more time off the clock.
60mins - Sub: Church is on for Kebe, who looked to be limping. The Malian has done well and it appears Church will go wide right.
61mins - Not for the first time, Mills does well to break up an attack. He finds Church, and the Welsh international's cross is a good one but Sullivan is there first.
62mins - Reading have shaded the second half 6so far and look more likely to score, but we can't write Donny off yet. Next goal is key.
65mins - Great challenge from Howard inside his own box to prevent a great chance for the home side.
63mins - Today's loan update. Alex McCarthy's Yeovil won 4-1 at Wycombe, while Michail Antonio came off the bench to help Southampton to a 1-1 draw at Exeter. David Mooney is an unused sub for Charlton as they draw at Swindon, and Mikkel Andersen keeps a clean sheet for Bristol Rovers at Walsall. Oliver Bozanic played 90 as Aldershot went down to Barnet. Our Academy player Jacob Walcott scores for Bognor Regis Town on his debut. In our division, West Brom man Jerome Thomas will be suspended for the FA Cup game next week after being sent off at Plymouth today.
69mins - Big centre half Martis is off injured on his debut and Sam Hird is on.
70mins - Great work from Long to win a corner. It comes all the way to Howard, who again turns nicely to get a cross in but Sullivan grabs it.
71mins - Rovers' media team have kindly gone out of their way to find the away fans' figure for us, and there are 337 loyal Royals here.
72mins - Superb shot from Long from 20 yards and unfortunately it's matched by a superb save from Sullivan, who tips it over acrobatically. Our second half performance has been very good but we'd love a second goal.
73mins - Superb challenge from Griffin to prevent another good sight of goal for Rovers. Excellent defending. Rovers then make a double sub, Guy and Hayter on for Shiels and Wilson.
75mins - Rovers are looking for the grandstand finale and we may have to find a bit of resolve in these last 15 minutes. We've just benefitted from the latest offside flag in football history and there are cries of 'rubbish linesman' from the home fans sitting near the press box.
77mins - GOAL! 2-0 to Reading and Brian Howard gives us huge breathing space. It's an important goal but also a very good one. Church advances in possession and shifts it to Long, who in turn finds Howard and he sidefoots home nicely.
79 mins - More cries of 'Brian give us a wave' and he acknowledges our support but is then quickly concentrating on the game. 'Brian McDermott's barmy army' is the response from our supporters.
81mins - GOAL! Lifeline for Rovers and Reading down to ten men. Mills is adjudged to have handled a goalbound shot and it's a big call from the referee because it's a penalty and a red card. Sharp strokes home the penalty. Tough to say whether it was deliberate handball or not, and Mills was suggesting it hit his chest.
82mins - Khizanishvili is on for Church for the last eight minutes. Tactical change to shore up the defence.
85mins - Rovers want another penalty. Never in a million years. Desperate times for Reading though and it's backs to the wall now.
86mins - Reading are keeping the ball well in the corner, only for the spell to end with a hugely debatable goal kick decision.
88mins - Sharp booked for going in late on Federici.
90mins - Doncaster hit the bar, Hayter smashing a super volley that crashes back off the woodwork. We'd give anything for the full time whistle.
90mins - Somehow we've got 6 minutes of injury time. That is unbelievable. Yes we've had five subs and a penalty, but neither physio has been on the pitch. Incredible.
90+1mins - Long again does well and Karacan should do better than to smash over from 15 yards.
90+2mins - Thorvaldsson is on for Howard. I think every Reading supporter is still getting to grips with how the referee came to 6 minutes of added time.
90+3mins - Good defending from Khizanishvili to see it back to Federici. Our ten men are giving everything.
90+4mins - Superb save from Federici to palm away a deflected effort. It comes to O'Connor but he miscues horribly. Reading fans rightly sing Federici's name.
90+6mins - We're now OVER the six minutes. How are we still playing? Federici makes another great save and that's it! FULL TIME and a massive three points for Reading.
