Brian Howard enjoyed a perfect afternoon at Doncaster on Saturday, helping the team earn three points with a goal and an assist in our 2-1 victory.

Howard was brought back into the team to play just behind Shane Long, and the two combined very well, each scoring and setting one up for the other.

Howard said, "It was great, three points for the team, a goal for myself and an assist. It's a huge win, a professional job, three massive points.

"I've been frustrated, it was my first start since November and I made sure once I got a chance I would make up for lost time. So it couldn't have gone better, but I can't rest and the whole team will make sure we build on this when we play on Tuesday."

He continued, "I thought Longy was fantastic, he won every header and I picked up the bits - his workrate was unbelievable. I'd like to see his stats and see how far he's run! He's got three goals in six games so that's good form and long may it continue. He's a real handful and we linked up well, that could be something for the future.

"I played up front as a kid and I've always scored goals, but this has been my worst season for goals as I've not played as much. Four or five more before the end of the season would be nice to help the team.

"We can't rest on our laurels now, it's a good win away but we're still in a bad situation. We're working hard though and every fan will be hopeful we can get out of this mess."
