Brian happy with home comforts
Brian McDermott says he is looking forward to returning to Madejski Stadium this evening, as Reading look to make it three wins on the trot with the visit of Plymouth Argyle.
The Royals boss is yet to taste defeat at home since taking the reins in December, despite landing tough cup draws with the likes of Burnley and Liverpool.
"It's a home game, we don't have to travel which is good and we're looking forward to playing in front of our own supporters," he said.
"They're buying into the cause and results have picked up at home. We've said we don't want to be where we are in the league but we just have to do things really, really slowly - chipping away and taking each game on its own merits."
There will be at least one change from the side that picked up an impressive win over Doncaster this past weekend, with Matt Mills forced to serve a one game suspension after receiving his marching orders against his old club.
Zurab Khizanishvili was the man to fill in at centre half in the frantic dying stages at the Keepmoat Stadium, and McDermott is sure that such squad depth will give his side a good chance of avenging a damaging 4-1 defeat at Home Park just over a month ago.
"Matt was unfortunate, it hit his chest and then hit him on the arm - but sometimes with these things you appeal and you end up getting banned for two or three games instead. We'll live with that, we've got a good squad and the players that come in will do well I'm sure.
"It's gone on record that it (the defeat to Plymouth) was a disappointing day, we've had to leave that behind - that was the one game we really let ourselves and the supporters down so we don't want that to happen again."
