Adam Federici believes the Royals are beginning to turn a corner, and is far happier with our form in 2010.
We have won five, drawn one and lost two of our eight fixtures since the start of the year, including back-to-back wins in our last three matches.
We are also unbeaten at Madejski Stadium under Brian McDermott's management, and Federici, 25, is pleased the team are getting back on track.
The goalkeeper said, "We've done well and we needed a kick-start to begin 2010. Last year was a disgrace but we've had a few great wins.
"We've been playing really well. 2010 was a new start and we've got back to being hard to beat at home. People were coming here and scoring for fun, we wanted to be solid and we've got our rewards.
"We were struggling but pulled a good run together. The big game for the League is on Wednesday away at Palace and if we win that we should move up a few places. The table is close now, and we've got some hope. We're confident but need to keep the run going.
"In the FA Cup maybe the pressure is off us a bit, we can go out there, play and enjoy it, we'll have a go. There is maybe more freedom in cup games and we have enjoyed the results we've had. We're looking forward to Saturday."
