Shane Long was an unused substitute as Ireland went down 2-0 to Brazil in a friendly encounter at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening.

An own goal and a classy Robinho strike gave the South Americans victory, but Ireland put up a good showing, particularly in the first half.

Earlier in the week Long looked likely to play some part, but captain Robbie Keane made a surprise recovery from injury and ended up playing the full 90 minutes.

Gylfi Sigurdsson was in Germany with Iceland's under 21s, but missed out because of an ankle injury.

On Wednesday Zurab Khizanishvili's Georgia host Estonia at 4pm UK time, while Simon Church's Wales play host to Sweden, kick off 7:45pm.

Ryan Bertrand and Alex McCarthy are both in the England u21 squad to face Greece at Doncaster in a qualifier tonight, kick off 6pm. Mikkel Andersen will is with Denmark's u21s in Austria for a friendly, kick off 4pm.

Scott Davies is back in the Ireland u21 party as they play host to Armenia in a Dublin friendly.
