Brian McDermott leads Reading into their first FA Cup quarter final in 83 years this coming Sunday - but is not ready for his team's historic run to end just yet.
Despite knocking out two Premier League sides and one of the best teams in the Championship, there is no chance Brian is about to rest on his laurels - he is absolutely determined to beat Aston Villa this weekend.
He said, "We want to win. People say it's no lose but you can feel low if you don't perform. We want to make sure we perform and we want to do well. We want to make sure we're fully involved in a really good cup tie.
"There's now only eight teams left in the country in this competition - but we still want to go as far as we can. It's never been a distraction to us. The last time this club was in the quarters was 1927, so let's see how far we can go."
Brian is respectful of Villa's quality, but wants his own side to play to their strengths and capitalise on their excellent recent form. "We have to play to our strengths. Since I've taken this job I've only concentrated on us and I've not shown the players any videos of the opposition. Our work is the most important thing.
"I've had a lot of proud moments since I took over this squad of players. Most recently we beat Sheffield Wednesday only a few days after playing a full 120 minutes at West Brom. We knew that was an important game for us and I was very proud of the players - hopefully we will all feel the same after the game on Sunday."
