Tabb makes FA Cup pledge

Posted on: Sun 07 Mar 2010
Midfield dynamo Jay Tabb cannot wait for Sunday's quarter final clash with Aston Villa, and has pledged to give absolutely everything in the quest for FA Cup glory.

The 25-year-old has performed very well after coming back into the starting XI for the last two games, and is desperate to make a Wembley semi-final by beating Villa.

He said, "It's the FA Cup and anything can happen. This is a great tie for us against a Villa team looking at a top four finish in the best league in the world.

"The cup's been a turning point for us this season. Before the cup we'd not won many games in the league but when you get a good result things turn around. We're doing the basics right and then the attributes come through after that.

"I've always loved the FA Cup, it's a great competition and I'm really looking forward to playing on Sunday.

"The further you go, people sit up and take notice. We've beaten big teams to get here. We're right at the top of the form table and we want to complete the turnaround.

"It's a great achievement from the squad to make a little bit of history and we want to keep it going. The chance to play at Wembley hasn't sunk in and we'll give it everything we've got to get through to the semi final."

The remaining tickets for Sunday's game are on sale now to Member Card holders with a previous Reading FC purchase - telephone 0844 249 1871, use the online ticketing service or visit in person to book your place.
