McDermott & Church edged out

Posted on: Sun 07 Mar 2010
Manager Brian McDermott and striker Simon Church were edged out in their bid for February's Championship awards.

McDermott was on the four-man shortlist for the official Coca-Cola manager of the month award, while Church was among the quartet hoping to win the division's player of the month.

McDermott won four and lost one League game during the month, as well as knocking West Brom out of the cup, but lost out to Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, who won four and drew three of their seven League fixtures.

Leicester forward Paul Gallagher took the player award having scored four goals, the same number as Church.
