27 hour commute from Tanzania!

Posted on: Thu 11 Mar 2010
North stand season ticket holder Andy Bryant thinks he may have had the longest commute of any Reading fan for Sunday's FA Cup quarter final with Aston Villa - and with a journey time of 27 hours from Tanzania he certainly went beyond the pale to make the match!

Andy was in Tanzania on Saturday, having climbed the world's highest freestanding mountain to raise money for local charity Helen & Douglas House - and he wore his Reading shirt at the peak, just shy of 20,000 feet!

It took Andy 27 hours from Tanzania, via Mombassa, Addis Ababa, Rome and finally Heathrow, eventually getting home at 11.30 Sunday morning! He had time for a quick change and then went straight to the game to cheer on the Royals in what he described as 'a fabulous match.'

Andy sent details of his journey for inclusion on our One Team, Your Club, Our Community page in the official matchday programme, and it will go into print this weekend when we face Bristol City.

If you've got a story to tell or a picture wearing your Reading shirt in a weird and wacky place, please email details and pictures for the programme to media@readingfc.co.uk
