Excerpts from tonight's programme

Posted on: Thu 11 Mar 2010

Tonight's edition of 'the Royal' is another bumper 84-page publication with the very best coverage of everything Reading related!

We've got exclusive interviews and features, a look back on our FA Cup exploits, latest news, supporter updates and much more besides. It's on sale at the ground priced £3.

A few of the best excerpts:

Brian McDermott's notes:
I can't pretend I'm not very disappointed that we were knocked out after such a good start on Sunday. However, I am also immensely proud of the players, the team I have around me and our supporters who were outstanding again at the weekend.

Ivar Ingimarsson's column:
As a team we can be very proud of this run; 82 Reading teams before us failed to make it as far as we did and 84 other league clubs failed to reach the quarter-finals this season. So all of us who took part in this, players, staff and fans can take some pride in that.

Back on the map:
During Sunday's game a peak of 4.29million people tuned in to our live coverage on ITV1. We had a 30% share of the nation's viewers at that point, and the average watching figures were 3.33million.

Shane Long in-depth interview:
After Villa we came in Monday morning and played a bit of cricket, just a bit of banter to take our minds of things. I think it adds a lot to your season if, now and then, you can relax and have some fun with your teammates. If you dwell too much on a loss it can come back to haunt you, so I think having a bit of a laugh and a bit of banter is the best way to get it out of your system

STAR's Jon Keen:
Everyone seems to have a bit of a spring in their step, and Madejski Stadium is once again a fun place to watch football. As well as raising the profile of Brian McDermott and the team, the confidence the team has been playing with is almost unrecognisable from a few months ago.

Pick up your copy of 'the Royal' at the game tonight for £3.
